The NSW Government is providing strata schemes with grant funding to prepare their building for the future by upgrading infrastructure to enable adequate EV charging facilities.
The grants on offer include subsidizing a feasibility assessment so costs do not exceed $2,000 +GST, as well as co-funding the building infrastructure upgrade, up to $80,000 per building. The grants will be on offer until the pool of $10 million in grant money is exhausted.

Stage 1 (feasibility assessment), buildings must be classified as Class 2 under the National Building Code and have 10 or more lots. Building must also be able to implement EV charging infrastructure upgrades that can be accessed by all residents.
Stage 2 (infrastructure upgrade), buildings must have completed the Stage 1 program. Installation is also required to be approved by ordinary resolution at a general meeting of the owners corporation.
